Volunteer and Help Clean a Canal!

This cleanup was honestly an eye-opener. We were by the canal behind Publix in Hialeah, walking up and down collecting trash. A friend and I grabbed a long stick and ended up pulling out a bunch of stuff that was floating in the water. Thankfully, it was cloudy that morning, so the heat wasn’t too bad. What really made the experience better was talking with the other volunteers; it made the time go by faster and kept things fun. Seeing how much trash was in the canal was kind of sad. It makes you think, if this place looks like this, how many others are just as bad or even worse?
