
(INDIVIDUAL) President's Service Leadership Award - Lifetime Achievement (4,000+ hours)
Description
Miami Dade College proudly awards the President's Service Leadership Award (PSLA) to recognize and honor the commitment of MDC students, faculty, and staff dedicated to serving and giving back to their communities. This prestigious honor is bestowed by MDC President Madeline Pumariega.
The President's Service Leadership Lifetime Achievement Award is the college's highest honor for volunteer service, recognizing those who have contributed 4,000 or more hours of service in their lifetime.
- Bronze (100-174 hours)
- Silver (175-249 hours)
- Gold (250+ hours)
- The President's Service Leadership Lifetime Achievement Award (4,000+ hours in a lifetime)
Awardees will receive a customized certificate and a congratulatory letter from MDC President Pumariega. Awardees will also be invited to their campus' annual changemaking recognition event.

Prerequisites
1) Must complete at least 4,000 hours of service, entered and verified in the MDC Changemaker Hub.
2) To qualify, volunteer hours must meet MDC's Standards of Service.
Upon reaching 4,000 verified hours, the President's Service Leadership Award will show up on your EngageMDC transcript, iCED will send you a letter of commendation and certificate from President Pumariega, and you will be invited to your campus' annual changemaking recognition event.

Criteria
Eligible service is unpaid acts of volunteer service benefitting others with the following exceptions:
· Service through National service programs that provide a stipend (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) may count towards the Lifetime Achievement Award
· Travel stipends, transit/parking passes, membership passes, expense reimbursements, and other nominal volunteer support do not impact service eligibility
Ineligible service includes:
· Donating funds
· Political lobbying (Non-partisan voter registration is an eligible activity)
· Religious instruction
· Conducting worship service
· Proselytizing
· Volunteer service performed as part of court-ordered community service
· Serving only family members
